Grief Work: What is it?
Cheryl follows the Coaching at End-of-Life model of grief work, an internationally recognized, evidence-based process for navigating grief.
Grief work is the personal process of learning to live with loss. It gives you space to acknowledge what has changed, explore the emotions and questions that come with loss, and discover ways to move forward while honoring what matters to you.
Grief can follow many experiences: the death of someone you love, the loss of a beloved pet, the end of a relationship or marriage, a job or career change, a major life transition, or the loss of a future you expected or hoped for.
Whatever the circumstances, your experience deserves compassion and respect. You are not broken, and there is no single right way or timetable for grieving.
As your grief coach, I offer a supportive space for you to tell your story, explore what this loss means in your life, and consider healthy ways to care for yourself as you adjust to what has changed. We work together at a pace that respects your individual experience.
We Explore Grief Through

Refining Beliefs
We start the coaching by exploring your beliefs about grief and mourning, avoiding grief myths, and discovering what is normal in grief. If you hold false ideas about grief and mourning, you may get stuck in common pitfalls in the mourning process. Once you know what to expect, you can move forward in your grief journey, aware of the pitfalls, and learn to live alongside loss in healthy ways.

Finding Safe Ways to Mourn
We identify people, places, and practices that support you as you mourn. Without safety, you cannot be vulnerable enough to release the grief emotions and tell your story. You deserve space to be honest about what you are experiencing without judgment or pressure to feel better. Safe spaces let you practice acts of mourning regularly, allowing you to ride the waves of grief rather than fight them.

Your Process
Design a personal grieving plan. Grief processing is unique in both how long it takes and how each person experiences it. Together, we explore what you need, what feels challenging, and what kinds of support and self-care may help you navigate this season of life. By recognizing your grieving process, you can partner with yourself to grieve well.

Rediscovering Your Identity
Explore any obstacles to moving forward and reclaiming your life. After the grief journey, you must rediscover your new identity because grief changes everyone. Rediscover your new self and your life with joy and confidence.

Moving Forward
Grief changes us, and learning to live with loss takes time. Through compassionate coaching, you can explore who you are today, discover ways to care for yourself, and find meaning and hope as you move forward—while continuing to honor what and whom you have lost.
